The Thumb Area of Michigan is made up of many small communities. Following the Lake Huron lakeshore on state highway M-25 will take you around the Thumb Area of Michigan’s lower peninsula mitten. Along the lakeshore small communities dot map and at the tip of the thumb two popular state parks offer waterway access to the popular waterfront. Across the thumb area, agriculture is a prominent industry and the area is known for raising large quantities of sugar beets.
